Título: A educação das forças armadas no Suriname
Abstract: The present work analyses the trajectory of the armed forces in Suriname. The young country has suffered a series of political coups involving the military, causing changes in their academic formation. The time frame is from November of 1975 to January of 2021, since the country's Independence until the creation of the first military educational institutions in the country. The methodology used was exploratory and qualitative; it counted with biographical support, interviews, paper articles, informative websites, and the academies' social media. The creations of the mentioned institutions marked a new era in Suriname's military education, that used to depend almost exclusively of cooperation with other countries, mostly Brazil and The Netherlands.0036-05-13T00:00:00ZDireitos humanos, mulheres e refúgio: o papel da anistia internacional na divulgação e manutenção dos direitos das palestinas e sírias refugiadas no Líbano de 2010 a 2019

Título: Direitos humanos, mulheres e refúgio: o papel da anistia internacional na divulgação e manutenção dos direitos das palestinas e sírias refugiadas no Líbano de 2010 a 2019
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the importance of the contribution of Amnesty International on the dissemination and maintenance of the human rights of Palestinian and Syrian refugee women in Lebanon, from 2010 to 2019. The methodology used was the descriptive qualitative with some quantitative elements, percentages. The motivation for such study is given by the importance of non-governmental organizations in human rights advocacy in scenarios of non-recognition of protection regimes, such as Lebanon’s, in addition to the specific gender violations suffered by Palestinian and Syrian women living as refugees in the country. Amnesty International started as a humanitarian organization focused only on prisoners of conscience, but soon enough it became an independent and relevant actor in the international arena. This allowed it to extend its mandate to a more plural one, including gender and refugee issues. It was found that Amnesty International can be classified as an international organization, which allows greater reach on subjects that would normally be difficult to access outside of their regional contexts, such as the realities of Palestinian and Syrian refugee women in Lebanon. Besides, the organization has operational character, well defined bureaucratic system, and three stages of action: research; advocacy and lobbying; and campaign. However, the hypothesis raised is that its main mechanism of dissemination of gender and refugee rights in Lebanon are its annual and individual reports. It was concluded, therefore, that Amnesty International is indeed a valuable mechanism for public information about Palestinian and Syrian refugee women in Lebanon for its easy access to content and constant date update, but it fails to keep a regular production of reports focused on the subject, since the last report of gender-and-refugee-specific report was from 2016. Moreover, it cannot protect the maintenance of these rights for it has a very broad mandate, and ends up focusing on themes that will attract more public attention. This leads to the failure to achieve its goal of pressure against the Lebanese government and other relevant bodies for accountability.0033-03-13T00:00:00ZA relação entre a pandemia do covid-19 e o aumento dos casos de violência doméstica no Brasil no ano de 2020

Título: A relação entre a pandemia do covid-19 e o aumento dos casos de violência doméstica no Brasil no ano de 2020
Abstract: The present work aims to identify how the COVID-19 pandemic influenced cases of domestic violence in the Brazilian state in 2020, considering the biopsychosocial effects of isolation, risk factors for victimization and pre-treatment. existence of an epidemic of gender violence in the country. The qualitative method and feminist curiosity, as coined by Cynthia Enloe, were used for the research. It was found that the response of the Brazilian government in the fight against domestic violence during the year 2020, with the occurrence of the pandemic, left something to be desired. Government decisions were not made considering a gender perspective and Brazilian women were exposed to a situation of greater vulnerability due to pre-existing risk factors, such as reduced access to education, accumulation of domestic tasks and financial dependence, accumulated with the social, economic and health challenges brought by the pandemic.0036-03-13T00:00:00ZONU mulheres: um panorama acerca das iniciativas implatadas no Brasil (2015 - 2018)

Título: ONU mulheres: um panorama acerca das iniciativas implatadas no Brasil (2015 - 2018)
Abstract: This article aims to analyze the actions of UN women in the period between 2015 and 2018, as well as their contributions to the context of women and girls in Brazil. Methodologically, the research started from an analytical-descriptive approach, based on systematic literature review and review. The results showed that the UN Women in its initial period developed several actions to promote gender equality and the rights of women and girls; however, these actions were centralized in the midwest and southeast regions. The northern region of the country had the least number of targeted initiatives. This reveals that, even international entities, still concentrate their efforts in the great centers of power, leaving the margin of visibility the spaces considered as peripheral in the country. Another factor linked to this situation was the political instability caused by the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff, in 2016, a situation that had a strong component of gender discrimination and that caused a drop in the number of actions in a homogeneous manner. Part of this can be explained by the extinction of Ministries of Culture; Communications and Women, Racial Equality and Human Rights, which are important in articulating policies and partnerships between NGOs and the State.0016-06-11T00:00:00Z
