Abstract: Plants are used as source for medicine production since the oldest civilizations. Those medicaments obtained by isolated substances from plants gained greater notoriety in the XIX century, and still being researched and used for this purpose nowadays. In this context, Brazil with its biodiversity has a lot of species used popularly as empiric treatment for diseases, a knowledge passed through generations. Many of these plants, however, do not have scientific studies about its chemical composition, which is very important to comprehend the mechanism of action of these plants therapeutically. One of the most abundant plant family in Brazil is the Melastomatacea family, the sixth largest in Brazilian grounds and it has plants used both as ornamental and medicinal purposes. Plants from Tibouchina Aubl. genus are used empirically as analgesics and sedatives. The present work studies one of the species from the Tibouchina Aubl. genus, Tibouchina aspera Aubl., which despite been used to describe the genus, little is known about its chemical composition. From T. aspera leaves was obtained its essential oil by hydrodistillation, and dry extract by alcoholic maceration. The extract was fractionated and a hexane fraction obtained, which along with the essential oil was analyzed in a gas chromatography apparatus with coupled mass spectrometer. In the study, was identified in the plant extract the intermediate triterpene squalene and two simple alkanes. In the essential oil was identified two substances, 1-hexanol and 3-hexenol. This is the first scientific study in the literature to identify chemical substances in T. aspera Aubl.0014-08-14T00:00:00ZEstudo da estabilidade microbiológica do leite de castanha-do-Brasil (Bertholletia excelsa) produzido no estado do Amapá

Abstract: The Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa Bonpl) is found throughout the Amazon region and is considered one of the most noble species in the forest. Its fruit represents high economic value due to its use in both human and animal food. Brazil nut “milk” is a water-soluble extract, the basic process of which involves the stages of dehulling, extraction, separation of insoluble residues (wet flour), formulation, packaging and heat treatment. Studies have been carried out to evaluate the best use of this milk, with the main objective of preserving the nutritional and sensory qualities of the nut, making it a more usable element in the production chain. The Brazil nut film in turn constitutes an obstacle to the physicochemical quantifications of the nut oil, as well as generating an impediment to production, since it can be considered a physical barrier for its extraction. This study aimed to assess microbiological stability for up to 60 days after physical and chemical treatments. The samples submitted to the T1 treatment, pasteurization and refrigeration at 4-8 ° C) obtained the best results over the 60-day period, as both the use of chemical as well as physical techniques, acted to maintain the microbiological stability of the sample, guaranteeing the conservation of this product in its microbiological characteristics, contributing in a safe way in complementing the diet, adding value to the nut production chain.0013-08-13T00:00:00ZAvaliação da atividade em Aedes aegypti, estudo fitoquímico qualitativo e antioxidante do extrato bruto etanólico da espécie Spondia dulcis Parkinson (Anacardiaceae)

Título: Avaliação da atividade em Aedes aegypti, estudo fitoquímico qualitativo e antioxidante do extrato bruto etanólico da espécie Spondia dulcis Parkinson (Anacardiaceae)
Abstract: Spondia dulcis Parkinson is a plant belonging to the Anacardiaceae family, popularly known as cajarana, cashew mango. The cajarana tree is 8 - 18 m tall, the leaves are concentrated at the top of the branches, with 11 - 13 aromatic leaflets being popularly used as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antidiarrheal. Plants of this family are potential biocides in the control of Aedes aegypti. The objective of this research was to evaluate larvicidal activity, qualitative phytochemical prospecting and antioxidant activity evaluation from the leaves of the ethanolic crude extract of the species Spondia dulcis Parkinson. During the phytochemical screening of the ethanolic crude extract, the research evaluated the presence of 14 classes of secondary metabolites. The search for such classes may justify some possible biological activities, such as larvicide of the plant species. From this research project the following results were found: 59g of crude extract was obtained, phytochemical prospecting indicated the presence of the following groups of secondary metabolites: alkaloids, steroids and triterpenoids, phenols and tannins, flavonoids and foam saponins in the ethanolic crude extract. Regarding the larvicidal activity, it presented a LC50 of 24.19 µg. mL -1 for 24h as well as LC50 of 18.931 µg. mL-1 for 48h of larval exposure, the extract was able to kill in 24h 93.33% and in 48h 97.33% of exposed individuals. These results indicate good larvicidal activity against Aedes aegypti larvae, caused by the presence of saponins, tannins and alkaloids that act to interrupt larval development and food absorption, in addition to other harmful actions. The crude ethanolic extract showed no antioxidant activity using ascorbic acid IC50: 6.13 µg. mL-1 as a comparison to verify such activity by the DPPH method, presenting IC50: 6.065 µg. mL-1, with a result below the positive control. Thus, the studied species presented larvicidal potential, photochemical prospecting presented satisfactory results and antioxidant activity did not present satisfactory results0017-06-10T00:00:00ZInvestigação de contaminação por cobre nos moradores de Santana-AP com exposição à rejeitos de minérios

Abstract: The Amazon industrial development, in the Northern region of Brazil, resulted in many environmental disasters, which is a local concern. The Northern region is abundant in several ores, thus the mining activities is accountable for most of the environmental disasters, which always will affect the local population, manly riverside dwellers, because their way of life is directly related to the natural resourses, like river water, fish consumption, which most of the contamination due to mining accumulates through the food chain, and among those rejects is the copper metal, wichi is the trace element investigated in the study of this contamination, as approach yours various aspects, since your discovery, until yours various application. This presented paper objecfies to evaluate the contamination degree by copper ore, and analyse the inffluence of contamination on the local population. The number of participants was 100 peoples, which 50 of them were exposed, and 50 weren`t, their biological matters (blood and urine) were anlysed in order to obtain results as copper concentration in their urine and also kidney analyse and hepatics biochemical marker. Local water analysis in several collecting points was done. In the end, there were evidences of contamination by copper ore, by pottable water analysis, but also the blood test and urine test also suggests contamination by cooper ore0012-06-10T00:00:00Z
