Resumo
The criminality involving young people is one of the crucial problems that affect the social and
political structure of a country, and the resocialization program is a constant challenge that
depends on many variables. In this sense, the internment units that carry out correctional
measures attributed to adolescents who commit infractions has the performance of a
multidisciplinary technical team, directly involved in each stage of the socio-educational
process, being of fundamental importance to highlight the performance of these professionals
in a paradoxical context to promote the resocialization in a space of deprivation of liberty. The
understanding of this reality is one of the purposes of this dissertation, which caused the
following problem: What is the view of the technical team of the Socio-educational Internment
Center (CESEIN), involved in the execution of the correctional measure of internment over the
weaknesses and possibilities of the socio-educational process applied to young offenders? In
line with the problem announced, the general objective of this research is to analyze the vision
of CESEIN/AP technical team, involved in compliance with the correctional measure of
internment, on the socio-educational process applied to young offenders, focusing on
weaknesses and possibility for resocialization. In the methodological configuration, the
research was based on the historical-dialectical method of qualitative approach and the
participating observation type, made in June 2021, which allowed a broad spectrum view of the
institutional scenario, in which adolescents offenders are housed and the social behaviors
existing in that space of resocialization. Therefore, the observation was realized on site, in the
development spaces of the research subjects, as well as, an interview with open questions as a
complement to better analyze the findings arising from the observation, which served as the
base for seeking information with people involved directly in the socio-educational process of
adolescents in conflict with the law, being the following informants: a psychologist, a
pedagogue, a social worker, an art educator and the Director of the Socio-Educational Center,
and the selection criterion to reach the highlighted group was the longest time of each
professional at CESEIN. In the axis of the main results, it was identified that the effectiveness
of assistance to adolescents in conflicts with the law depends on more intervening actions by
the State, family and society, especially with school evasion and referrals by the unit technical
team, and there is a range of possibilities for improving the quality of socio-educational services
provided by law and should be explored in favor of this adolescents who committed an
infraction, preventing him from returning to the conditions of few opportunities and,
consequently, to crime.
