Religião e saúde: espiritualidade na formação do acadêmico de medicina da Universidade Federal do Amapá

Abstract

There an is growing intercession in Brazil in the relationship between spirituality and health. Many health professionals are trained and do not know how to deal with the patient's religious dimension. There are few undergraduate medical courses in Brazil that foster these discussions in their curriculum. This article consists of an analysis of an experience developed with academics from the Medicine course at the Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP) in 2019. The discipline Sociology of Health and various activities were offered, such as: lectures, seminars, technical visits, application of questionnaires and roundtables. conversations are developed to discuss the relationship between religion and health with academics. We adopted the analysis material of the Pedagogical Political Project of the UNIFAP Medical Course, teaching plan for the discipline, pedagogical material and questioning applied among students. The aim of the project is to promote the defense of secularism and how the doctor must deal with the issue of religion in the daily life of his profession.
