Resumo
Floating elbow is a rare condition, usually associated with high-energy trauma, characterized by ipsilateral fractures of the humerus and forearm that compromise the intermediate joint. The aim of the study was to share the clinical and surgical experience of a rare case of bilateral floating elbow in adults, and thus contribute to the scarce literature on this epidemiology in Brazil and worldwide. Patient, GGC, 47 years old, victim of a traffic accident, motorcycle-car collision, underwent primary care, stabilized and subsequently underwent imaging examination that confirmed her fractures and underwent two surgical procedures at different times. She was discharged from hospital and evolved with a good prognosis in the outpatient follow-up.
