Resumo

This research proposes that forensic chemistry being used as a tool to significantly enhance the learning of teaching chemistry. The research is exploratory and explanatory. The research stages consisted of setting up forensic chemistry experiments, where the experiment scripts were adapted on top of chemistry content from the first grade of high school in a contextualized way in order to address concepts present in the students' daily lives. The research was divided into two moments. The first moment, with a proposal for pedagogical intervention, took place in a class in which an overview of the main concepts of forensic chemistry and the application of the initial questionnaire were given. The initial problematization took place in the second moment, which was divided into four stages, allowing the students to discuss the traces found at a crime scene, allowing the explanation of forensic chemistry concepts and the formation of connections with the students' daily lives. In the second stage, the students watched a video about forensic chemistry in relation to the application of experimentation used in criminal investigations. In the third stage, 3 experiments addressing forensic chemistry as the central axis explaining the operation of the experiments. In the fourth stage, the final questionnaire was applied after the class. The research put into practice had as a focal point the insertion of a differentiated methodology through the use of forensic experimentation. Demonstrating that the teacher, when developing and employing forensic chemistry experiments in the classroom, will help the student to observe the relevance of the studied contents and even “hook” with subjects that they will study or even studying, encouraging learning chemistry in a simple and effective way. The results presented in the present research prove that using forensic chemistry experimentation as an investment in learning is effective for students and extremely encouraging for learning
