Resumo
This study aims to analyze the perceptions of young students from rural schools in Amapá regarding the curricular contributions of SOME (Sistema Organizacional Modular de Ensino – Modular Organizational Teaching System) to their life and work perspectives within the community where they live. The territory where the study was conducted comprises a Conservation Unit, specifically the Rio Cajari Extractive Reserve (RESEX-CAJARI), located in the municipality of Laranjal do Jarí, which offers Elementary Education II and High School through SOME. The Maria Mendes Simões State School, situated in the forest, serves students from rural, riverine, and forest communities. The research subjects are primarily young students enrolled in the 3rd year of High School. For this work, I draw upon central authors whose ideas dialogue with this study, including Miguel Arroyo, Monica Molina, Salomão Hage, Paulo Freire, Roseli Caldart, Maria I. Antunes-Rocha, Michael Apple, Arthane Figueiredo, Tomas Tadeu da Silva, among others. The methodology used was qualitative research, adopting the dialectical method and employing bibliographic research, documentary analysis, and semi-structured interviews as instruments. The analyses were carried out based on the methodology of Discourse Analysis, drawing on authors such as Melo (2017), Oliveira (2007), Wachowicz (2013), among others. As a result, the research observed that, for the students of the forest school investigated, the High School education offered by SOME presents many gaps in the training of young people in the community. This is due to the short period that SOME teachers remain in the community, which generates a race against time, the use of generic or superficial content—many of which are disconnected from the local reality—as well as the lack of involvement in projects that value local culture. Consequently, this leads to a lack of perspective regarding the life and work of these students.
