Resumo
This is a bibliographic research in the area of mathematics education and has as its theme the investigation, problem solving and mathematical modeling and based on this methodology to build the concept of function, as well as some models of real situations and others that are part of the history of mathematics to serve as example of application of investigation and problem solving involving the object of knowledge called function, the result of this research aims to meet a new requirement of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) known as formative itinerary and this is subdivided into three parts: Deepening, Life Project and Elective, called the flexible part of knowledge allowing the teacher to innovate in his pedagogical practice. The ideas that will be dealt with in this work represent a way of seeking effective means regarding the improvement of teaching involving the subject of functions and has as its main objective a more critical and reflective participation on the part of the student, thus enabling greater participation in the teaching-learning process. We will also propose here didactic activities, where the student will have the opportunity to build the concept will have the opportunity to build the concept of function from a concrete everyday situation in a mathematical modeling environment the concept of function
