Um novo olhar sobre a arquitetura prisional: proposta arquitetônica de um centro de reintegração social APAC no Município de Macapá-AP

Abstract

The scope of the present work was to develop the design of a Social Reintegration Center along the lines of the methodology of the Association for the Protection of the Sentenced - APAC, which uses prison architecture as a way of recovering the person deprived of liberty, but without forgetting the punitive character of the penalty. The methodology used consisted of a systematic bibliographic search of scientific articles, dissertations, theses and books, which discussed the history of prison institutions in the world and the architectural characteristics of buildings intended for this type of activity. A bibliographic survey was also carried out regarding international and national project references tangent to the theme, as well as a field research to analyze the location chosen to carry out the project. At the end of the research, the project proposal is presented, which follows another perspective of incarceration as a synthesis of the issues discussed in the course of the work regarding the use of architecture as an aid in the recovery of the imprisoned individual.
