Artesanato amapaense: Escola do artesão

Abstract

Crafts have been part of man's life since the beginning. The history of craftsmanship is the history of mankind. It represents the diversity and cultural identity of each people, it has undergone several transformations throughout history in line with the evolution of man himself. In this sense, we sought to know the origins of handicrafts since prehistory, the genesis of the diversified Brazilian handicraft and the local reality, artisans from Amapá transform all sorts of raw materials richly offered by the Amazon forest into beautiful pieces, which tell the story of history of our people, represent our culture, however, according to the research carried out, there is a lack of courses aimed at this branch, finally, an Artisan School is proposed for the production and dissemination of handicrafts that contemplates the main modalities carried out in the State, the namely ceramics, wood, fibers and seeds and handicrafts. The research carried out was based on the study of theorists who discuss the theme, contact with artisans at the Associação de Artesanato do Amapá and visits to some places where the richness of raw materials and potential for the production of handicrafts in the State of Amapá. The methodology used consisted of qualitative and bibliographical research.
