Resumo
This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of physical inactivity and associated factors among high school students in the urban area of Macapá/AP. It is a cross-sectional descriptive study with a representative sample of n = 1205 high school students from public and private schools, aged 14 to 19 years. Data were collected through questionnaire adapted from Farias Junior (2009) to estimate the sedentary lifestyle (≤300 min / week) and associated factors. Variables were analyzed: age, sex, skin color, marital status, age, level-socioeconomic, occupation, type of school, daily TV time, computer, video games and mobile and father's level of physical activity and mother, perception health, social support and parental self-efficacy. The analysis of the association between the dependent variable and independent variable was performed using the chi-square test, adopting p <0.05, moreover, was estimated strength of association by reason of prevalence by the Poisson regression testing. The overall prevalence of physical inactivity was 60.2% (p = 0.001), more evident in females (68%; p = 0.001; RP = 1.35 (1.27 to 1.44)), which were students 1st year (71.2%; p = 0.001; RP: 1.66 (1.29 to 2.14), second year (70.2%; p = 0.001; RP: 1.59 (1.27 to 1.99) .) of teaching with 7 times more likely to become sedentary in adulthood, as in males the ratio was 50.9% (p = 0.001) in addition, 64% (p = 0.001; RP: 1.63 ( 1,58-1.67) sedentary teenage father has educational level completed high school. regarding the only category time screen time use of video games and computer> 2 hours on weekends had a positive association with physical inactivity (60 2%; p = 0.001; RP:. 1.23 (1.05 to 1.44)) teenagers classified sedentary 1st year (69.5%; p = 0.001) and second year (71.1%; p = 0.001) had higher proportions of negative perception of health. the lack of social support was positively associated with physical inactivity, and the disagreement of self-efficacy for physical activity with adverse weather conditions and the lack of company. The other variables cited did not have statistically significant associations. Therefore, public actions and political programs should be encouraged in view of change of the current prevalence of physical inactivity frame in adolescents in Macapa, and the creation of spaces suitable for practicing the activity thereby reducing the high rates of lack of self-efficacy, social support , health perception by young people
