Resumo

The presente work has as its objective investigate the identity construction inside of a specific media platform that are the japanese animation. The work will analize the narrative composition of the anime Tokyo Ghoul, written originally by Sui Ishida and directed, in its adaptation for TV, by Shuhei Morita. The highlights of this work will be, especially the moments that discuss identity, psychology, philosophy and sociology in the fictional cultural and political environment created inside the anime. Through Buddhist philosophy, we will trace the basic influences found inside Asian media, especially which concern to mangas and animes, also highlighting this philosophy in Tokyo Ghoul. Through the theorical reforce of the sociology and communication authours, we will build a dialogue between pholosophy society – as Hall (1997) and Lopes (2012) reforced, respectively –. Lastly, we will use the analytical perspective of Jung to understand the psychology of the character object of the study, Kaneki Ken, highlighting the main moments of the analyzed episodes that point out the issues raised by the in this analysis about the concept of persona and shadow. This work has as function understand the process of representation of the social dilemmas of the contemporary man in fictitious works, considering the sociocultural context of the places of production and reproduction of these materials – in this case, Japan. The comprehension about the society that consumes this material will also be mentioned in thes research, making possible to have a better understanding about the subjectives characteristics of the character studied, who becomes able to transmit, in some occasions, social features implied within the contexto of Japanese society.
