Uma etnografia do caos: reflexões sobre produção cultural em Macapá-AP e os sentidos de independência

Abstract

This research is the result of an ethnography I conducted with members of Espaço Caos - Arte e Cultura, an integrated arts collective located in the city of Macapá-AP. In it, I seek to focus on the link between narrative and action, with the aim of promoting an analysis of the meanings of the key category independence, placed in context through its operationalities by the members (Kuschnir, 2007). I understand that good anthropology pays attention to native categories without excluding their particular context of elaboration by the interlocutors (Cardoso, 2014). When I joined the collective, I noticed that the members called themselves independent and worked in the cultural sector according to what was understood by independence. By analyzing the developments of this category, I reach the political dimension of the actions of the members of Espaço Caos, who guaranteed access to culture in a city lacking policies to encourage the cultural sector.
