Abstract

This work aims to discuss the museum theme, having as object of research the Historical Museum of Amapá Joaquim Caetano da Silva and its relation with the memories linked to the History of Amapá. From a theoretical discussion, concepts about memory and history were analyzed and, in the field work, through the direct observation of the collection and the interviews carried out, the histories that the museum presented were verified. The hypothesis raised is that the MHAJCS presents an elitist story, based on the deeds of some characters transformed into heroes or names of political reference, in a clear positivist tendency
