Resumo
The Karate is an ancient martial art of the 15th century. Has its origins from Ancient
India and China, brought to the island of Okinawa and consequently widespread in
Japan, by Grand Master Gichin Funakoshi in the mid-19th century. The goal of this work
is to identify the importance of the inclusion of Karate in schools in the municipality of
Macapa-AP, and demonstrate how the scientific production in physical education has
evolved in recent years, especially concerning work on wrestling and martial arts. This
bibliographic search and character observativo discusses topics such as the inclusion of
martial arts at the school, the insertion of Karate in Physical education classes, the
Karate as pedagogical tract for physical education. Based mainly on studies of Lopes &
Vieira (2009), Da Silva (2008), Malheiros son (2009), Duino (1999), Sousa (2010),
Silveira (2005), Ramalho (2006) and Funakoshi (1998 cit Barrier & Massimi, 2003). For
this were analysed articles, monographs, books, theses, masters graduate websites
and journals. As well as the theoretical discourse legislation and publications come
walking towards diversity in this particular case including Karate in Physical education
classes. Such a move gives entitlement to work with these phenomena inside and
outside the school, which is beneficial to both the area as a whole and for specific
events. Infers that, addressing the contents Karate in Physical education classes
contributes to the construction and ressignificação culture body movement and the
benefits that the practice that the correct practice can bring them as: self-confidence,
self-esteem, contain, control the aggressiveness, disciplined, works breathing-aerobic
and anaerobic, improves muscle tone. There are many benefits that Karate provides to
its practitioners, beyond philosophy of life that involves karateca.
