Resumo

With the daily damage that hair strands suffer from endogenous and exogenous agents, such as fuel, chemical treatments and incidence of UV rays, the market is increasingly looking for highly technological products for hair treatment. From this perspective, the use of dispersed systems such as emulsions and nanoemulsions to obtain formulations aimed at reducing everyday damage is constantly growing. These formulations allow advantages such as greater efficacy and greater penetration of bioactive substances that can enhance the products. Increased consumer demand for natural and biodegradable substances in cosmetic formulations have gained more space in the market, boosting sustainability. Therefore, phytocosmetics are a formulation option containing natural assets of plant origin that are responsible for establishing the function of the product through its biological effects. This objective study formulates an emulsified system containing Persea americana Mill oil through a low energy technique and using non-ionic surfactants. Two pseudoternary diagrams were obtained with mixtures of avocado oil: polysorbate 80/sorbitan sesquioleate: water. The systems formed respectively by 78% and 82.5% of water, 20 and 15% of surfactants (hydrophilic lipophilic balance = 13) and 2 and 2.5% of avocado oil were considered promising, reaching the production of a potential product hair phytocosmetic. These did not show cremation during the first 24 hours and have high proportions between surfactant(s): oil. The future droplet size reduction can be investigated for these systems by modifying the low-weight technique used, for example, using phase inversion by temperature or autonanoemulsification instead of phase inversion by composition. Therefore, this work allowed the selection of formulations with indications of less destabilization by the action of gravity, in addition to the perspective of their use to obtain future nanoemulsions.
