Resumo

Dengue is a disease of great importance for population health in Brazil, o it is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, a vector of four flavivirus serotypes that cause classic dengue and hemorrhagic fever. In the state of Amapá, in 2021, from the Epidemiological Bulletin of the Superintendence of Health Surveillance (SVS), an increase in the number of dengue cases of 121% compared to the month of July 2020 was pointed out. The objective is to perform a chemical and molecular docking study to evaluate the insecticidal potential of Zingiber officinale Roscoe (Ginger) essential oil in the control of Aedes Aegypti larvae. Chemical studies were carried out through Gas Chromatography coupled to Mass Spectrometry and molecular docking in the region of Youth Hormone ligands. The m/m yield was 0.042% in 3 hours of extraction. The major chemical constituents found for the essential oil of ginger rhizomes were: Carvacrol (31.70%), Thymol (16.52%), γ-Terpinene (15.93), σ-Cymene (10.27%). Molecular docking demonstrated the potential to inhibit the juvenile hormone of Aedes aegypti from the synergistic action of its minor phytochemical constituents: Thymol Acetate, Carvacryl Acetate and Caryophillene. Thus, this study allowed us to conclude that essential oils from the rhizome of Zingiber officinale Roscoe can present insecticidal activity to be applied in the control of Aedes aegypti larvae
