Aspectos hidroclimatológicos da Bacia do Rio Jari no período de 1968 a 2012

Abstract

The objective of this investigation was to elaborate a spatio-temporal characterization of the monthly and annual average precipitation observed in the Jari River basin-AP in the period between 1968 and 2012. A second objective was to characterize physiographic basin aspects, such as drainage density, form factor and coefficient of compactness. The Jari River basin belongs to the Amazon River basin, by setting in a tributary of the left bank, located to the southwest of the State of Amapá in Brazil. Its territory encompasses the municipalities of Laranjal do Jari, Vitória do Jari, Mazagão, Pedra Branca, and North of the State of Pará in the northern region and includes the municipality of Almerím. The research methodology outlined the following steps: 1) climate hydro characterization of the basin; 2) treatment and analysis of the spatial distribution of the monthly and annual average precipitation accumulated in the form of maps; 3) physical characterization of the basin. The results were presented in the form of rainfall distribution maps based on the data of meteorological stations located within and around the basin. Both analyzed in the context of the "great flood" of the bowl that took place in the last decade, and by its high social and environmental interest. It is concluded that in recent decades is occurring a long and gentle decline of average annual rainfall, but this trend is not configured in significance (p < 0.05). However, the monitoring of the region's deficit, which makes analysis more accurate in predicting hydro-climatological events in the basin
