Resumo
This article discusses the reggae parties and the formation of a regueiro circuit in the city of
Macapa-AP, highlighting the reggae originated in Jamaica and later migration of Maranhão
reggae to Amapá. Will talk further about the reggae parties at UNA, radio programs, various
DJ's and bands members who moved (and move) the reggae scene in the city, beyond the
view of some respondents regueiros. It was no need for bibliographic data to understand the
roots of this cultural phenomenon that emerged in the Caribbean, specifically in Jamaica in
the late 60s of the twentieth century and its various concepts, as well as the main elements
that compose it. The focus of the research are the social and cultural relations that have arisen
through the festive gatherings of people who identify with the reggae musical rhythm and
how this musical identification interferes with the construction of the identity of these people
who have made and are part of the reggae scene "in the middle of world ", even leading to
symbolic disputes between some organized regueiros groups. Therefore, it is to understand
the reggae movement as a cultural phenomenon capable of producing collective orientations,
describe the formation of a circuit of people connected to the music reggae rhythm, their life
stories, work and leisure. We conducted a dense and long field research as a participant
observer in reggae events - including the homes of many involved the movement. recorder
assistance with interviews were conducted with the movement members and sympathizers of
this culture in general.
