Fluxo hidrodinâmico de cátions e ânions na desembocadura norte do Rio Amazonas em diferentes períodos sazonais

Abstract

The Amazon River, with its continental dimensions, presents particularities in relation to the composition of its waters, with a large presence of dissolved CO2, methane, carbon and organic and inorganic nitrogen, among other elements. This research aimed to understand the flow of cations (Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+) and anions (Cl-, NO3-, SO42-, PO43-) in the lower Amazon River in different hydrographic periods (flood, dry, ebb, flood). For the analysis, techniques from the American Public Health Association (APHA) were used. The results show that the Amazon River, in the studied section, presented a predominance of the Ca2+ cation and the SO42- anion, with higher concentrations during the dry and flood periods and lower concentrations during the high and low water periods. Therefore, there was a huge presence of ion flow throughout the environment studied.
