Educação em direitos humanos na Universidade Federal do Amapá: tendências e lacunas no âmbito da pesquisa e extensão (2006-2018)

Resumo

This study aims to know and analyze Human Rights Education (EDH), under the focus of research and extension at the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP). It is a research that makes it possible not only to verify the tendency of researchers and extensionists to make research choices in the perspective of human rights, but also to provoke the awakening of a culture in and for human rights. It is justified to consider that human rights have a fundamental role in society because it is an important instrument for the consolidation of rights and the exercise of citizenship. Historically, they are characterized by a path of advances and setbacks, which demanded - and has demanded - a vigilant action of society and public power, for its effectiveness. In this perspective, Brazil sought to respond to such demands with affirmative policies and normative insertions, which, in the field of education, presented itself with the publication of the National Human Rights Education Plan - PNEDH, whose purpose is to guide public policies in various sectors and areas of action on the subject. The Plan, therefore, reaches several axes, among them the higher education, for which this study is directed. The problem raised for this work was to investigate how the Human Rights Education, foreseen in the PNEDH, is presented in UNIFAP, especially with regard to the trends and gaps in research and extension projects, registered in the period 2006-2018 ?. The chosen time frame was from the disclosure of the PNEDH, in 2006, until 2018. The locus selected was the Federal University of Amapá - UNIFAP. It is a documentary research, with quantitative and qualitative approach, with content analysis, from the five categories established for this study, namely: 1) gender, women and groups of LGBT people; 2) racial, ethnic and identity groups; 3) Generational groups; 4) Persons with disabilities and 5) Human rights, memory, torture, conflicts and violence. The study revealed that there is the presence of human rights education in both research and extension in the University. However, trends and gaps were observed in a variety of ways, with emphasis on the categories of "racial, ethnic and identity groups" and "gender, women and LGBT groups", with trends for ethnic and gender issues . On the other hand, gaps have been detected, especially on issues involving the elderly and disabled groups, and there is therefore a need for specific actions at the University, in order to broaden their dissemination and strengthen the actions already carried out, as well as how to stimulate reflection on the need to institutionalize research and extension activities focused on human rights
