Abrigo Gugu: proposta arquitetônica para animais domésticos abandonados em Macapá-AP

Abstract

The main purpose of the present work is to base and elaborate an architectural proposal for a public building for abandoned domestic animals, located in Macapá, Amapá. Considering that the city does not have any structure that offers or manages the protection and welfare appropriate to these animals, it is necessary to propose an appropriate space that can host, assist, treat and later adopt. Through research in scientific sources, all the necessary information was collected to carry out this work, divided into four chapters. The first chapter addresses theoretical references and articles for the understanding of the relationship between humans and animals, bringing issues such as evolution, the benefits of this interspecies relationship, animal rights and abandonment. The second chapter brings project references analyzed and used for the elaboration of the proposal, highlighting relevant points of each initiative. The third chapter is destined to the developed analysis of the intervention area, through graphs, tables, maps, schemes and photographic surveys. The fourth chapter, finally, presents the initial proposal of the project, through diagrams, drawings, volumetry, typology and other aspects necessary for the development of the project. With this proposal we hope to welcome as many animals as possible, offer all the necessary support for their welfare, and create means of raising awareness among the population about respect for animal life, seeking to alleviate the problems generated by overpopulation of street animals.
