Perfil sociodemográfico e clínico de pacientes portadores de hanseníase no estado do Amapá, no período de 2010 a 2020

Abstract

Objective: To trace the sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients with leprosy in the state of Amapá, from 2010 to 2020. Methods: A descriptive, exploratory and retrospective study was carried out, using sec ondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), in the period from 2010 to 2020. Re sults: In the period from 2010 to 2020, 1589 cases of leprosy were reported, with a predominance of males (70.04%), aged between 31 and 45 years (29.7%), of the brown race (77.09%), with incomplete primary edu cation (38.83%) living in the urban area (81.62%), from the city of Macapá (57.96%). There was a predomi nance of the operational classification Multibacillary (64.13%), and dimorphic clinical form (44.75%) with de gree of disability zero (68.91%) in the diagnosis. Final considerations: The results found demonstrate the importance of promoting the development of public and educational policies for the community, as well as the improvement in the direction of public health policies aimed at the control of leprosy in the State, in addition to training and updating of health professionals to early diagnosis and active case finding.
