Resumo

The labor market, as well as the professions, has faced an accelerated pace of inevitable changes facing the recurring competitiveness engendered by the globalization of economies in contemporary society. And in this maelstrom is the Executive Secretary of the profession that, over time, has gradually achieved a prominent position in business organizations in the face of the multitude of functions that the profession offers. The formation of this professional has its basis in higher education, in which the curriculum needs to be adhering to the marketing dynamics. The context now discoursed led us to the following concerns: What high school students think about the Executive Secretary? Thus, the research aimed to identify the high school students conceptions of the Executive Secretary Profession. The subjects are students of the second year of the State School Gabriel Almeida Café located in central Macapá. The methodology used was sustain in the qualitative approach and techniques contemplated discussions conversation wheel from the projection of images about the profession, guided by the Culture Circle designed by Paulo Freire. Data analysis was base on content analysis and the main results were equivocal positions on the issue of gender and ethnicity related to the profession and the importance of disseminating the Federal University of Amapá on the profile of the courses in the institutions of high school in the State of Amapá
