Resumo
The Chemistry laboratory is not the reality of many public high schools in Brazil, and the student needs this environment to practice experimental chemistry and this enables the student to understand scientific concepts and models. In this sense, the theme of this work is “The teaching of experimental chemistry: using an alternative spectrophotometer as an educational tool”. Based on this work, the construction of an alternative spectrophotometer and a didactic methodology were developed and applied in the classroom, with an interdisciplinary role. The objective of this work is to demonstrate, through a didactic tool, the method of absorption spectrophotometry, as an alternative of experimental practice in the high school of chemistry, thus, clarifying the theoretical and experimental fundamentals, therefore, being directed to the knowledge, understanding and its applicability. The work sought to clarify the student to have a contextualized thought of their day to day and how the lack of laboratories and materials is a reality in public schools. In this thought, this tool provided an experience that influenced the didactic performance according to the results obtained. The applied work was carried out at the Professor Francisco Walcy Lobato Lima State School, located in the municipality of Santana in the state of Amapá. The methodology carried out was field research in the quantitative and qualitative nature. The results were obtained through practical and experimental classes, contextualizing chemical concepts for 2nd grade high school students. An alternative spectrophotometer was used, desktop and with the aid of the Theremino Spectrometer - V3.0 program that analyzes samples, it quantifies patterns of different concentrations, the subject used in the class was about Dilutions of Solutions, where they were made in the classroom according to with the material used in the student's daily life. In this sense, the application of this work showed the student positive points that provided the instigation and participation in an active construction of didactic and experimental knowledge
