Resumo
This research deals with School Culture with a specific focus on the disciplinary issue in Basic
Education, observed in a public school that was militarized. The general objective is to analyze
how (in)disciplinary socializing processes are revealed in the school culture of young students
at Escola Estadual Professora Risalva Freitas do Amaral, in the period from 2021 to 2023. The
research problem consists of the following question: what How are (in)disciplinary socializing
processes revealed in the school culture of young students at Escola Estadual Professora Risalva
Freitas do Amaral, in the period from 2021 to 2023? The analytical categories chosen for the
analysis of the object are: Socializing Processes; Managerialism, Discipline and
Neoconservatism. Methodologically, this is an Ethnographic research, with a qualitative
approach, combined with a Case Study. The locus of the research is the Professora Risalva
Freitas do Amaral State School. It is a public school institution that was militarized in 2017,
which is located in the north of the city of Macapá, in the state of Amapá. The results point to
the effectiveness of a militarized school culture, which seeks to inculcate in students the
materialization of vertical and hierarchical socializing processes from the perspective of
military disciplinary culture, however, in essence, the students, especially with regard to their
habits, even though they seem imprisoned within the scope of the school space, contradictorily,
they find ways to circumvent the formal rules, which may denote, on the one hand, that the
matrix that is intended to be imposed does not work in an absolute way, and on the other, that,
theoretically, the strength of hybridism culture may be greater than the attempt to standardize
behaviors and conduct.
