Esboço de um inventário lexical da cultura amapaense

Abstract

This article aims to develop a small lexical inventory of the Amapa culture, and to establish anthropological and linguistic nature of discussions about the interrelationship between language and culture. Theoretical support adopted the postulates of Geertz (1973), Biderman (1992; 2001), Fiorin (2008), Laraia (2009), Cardoso (2010) and among other authors dealing with cultural and dialect studies. For this research, we used data of the project Atlas Linguistic of Amapa (ALAP) employing the method of dialectology, known as geolinguistic. Were selected a total of about 80 lexical items that shape cultural traits geographically and socially distributed by the state of Amapa. By the dialectal and geolinguistic studies in Brazil, specifically in the Amazon, are noticeable contributions that data from linguistic atlases provide society. Are linguistic data very rich that can support research for numerous areas of knowledge such as history, sociology, geography, lexicology, anthropology, etc. Data provided by project ALAP reveal the linguistic and cultural diversity of Amapa. The lexical items inventoried show the current state of linguistic and cultural diversity left by our ancestors, mainly under the influence of indigenous languages in our vocabulary, the use of words such as: mucura, igarapé, carapanã, mangará and etc. The preparation of this small lexical inventory is a way to instigate new research and contribute to the cultural and linguistic studies in Amapa, an attempt to understand and record the dynamics of language as a cultural trait.
