Relatos introspectivos: uma imersão na agridoce memória da experiência de imigração

Abstract

The work I present aims to understand, from the perspective of the research interlocutor, his memories of immigration: perceptions, opinions, positions. What I intend to capture, therefore, are fragments of the process from his particular perspective. I take as my collaborator an individual who at a certain point in his life found himself immersed in the migratory journey that began in the north of Amapá, in the city of Oiapoque, and extended through the region of the Guiana Plateau, culminating in a trip to Europe and return. This story is, as the title suggests, bittersweet, because it was not permeated only by plausible situations from a social point of view. By exploring the personal experiences of the research interlocutor, I intend to delve into his life stories, extracting a detailed and intimate view of this journey. This approach helps me not only to understand the external events and circumstances that shaped his trajectory, but also the conflicts, challenges and diverse personal emotions that he encountered along the way. My intention is to delve into detailed narratives: motivations for immigrating, the circumstances that led to leaving their home country, the hopes and expectations they had regarding the new country and the realities they encountered upon arriving there. To this end, as a method, I move between ethnography, memory, ethnobiography and interviews to account for the process of capturing the life experiences of my interlocutor.
