Resumo

This study aims to identify the contribution of the School Izidória da Silva Reis, in the constitution of the identities of local children, community Foz do Mazagão Old River. The research was conducted through a qualitative research that had as data collection instrument observation in the classroom and conference room with preschool teacher in that school, and the observation in the family room of four children, seeking to investigate how they constitute the identities of local children in Early Childhood Education of the School Izidória da Silva Reis. Noteworthy are some authors who dialogued with the researchers, as Ariès (2014); Christ (2006; 2010; 2014); Kuhlmann, Jr. (2001); Lopes (2012); Pasuch and Santos (2012) and Pasuch and Silva (2010). The research results show that the education offered is still only privilege the school culture of the city and not the community in which the children are located. It is understood that it is essential to build an inclusive education that can affirm the identity and experiences of local children. It is indispensable to discuss the educational and pedagogical model that denies cultures, knowledge and ways of production life of the people of the field, because the teaching doings need to respect and work diversities and own dynamics of local children as a way to enrich the process of teaching / learning and building new social, egalitarian, inclusive, sedimented on respect and appreciation of the socio-cultural diversity experienced in childhood.
