Resumo

The use of information and communication technology (ICT) in cities is helping to build smart cities that aim to improve the quality of life for citizens. In a Smart Campus, ICT can also be used to support the academic community in their daily lives. In this sense, this work aims to present a smart mobility solution in light of existing solutions to meet the needs of students, teachers and technicians at the Federal College of Amapá (Unifap). The work was divided into three phases. First, a survey was conducted to understand the profile of the community in terms of technology use, problems related to transportation, experiences with mobility applications, and users’ perceptions regarding the reliability of using a ride-hailing application. Then, taking into account the survey conducted, the requirements were defined and a free ride-hailing solution was developed for the Unifap academic community, based on UFRJ’s Caronaê application. This solution used Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies, such as Heroku hosting, Firebase’s cloud messaging notification system, and the Java language. Finally, validation of the proposal was conducted with the volunteers who had previously answered the survey questionnaire. Of the 186 participants, 95.7% rated the solution as excellent. Functional tests were performed during the validation. Users rated how easy or very easy the application was to use, using a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being very difficult and 5 being very easy. Based on the results obtained, we believe that the proposed solution meets the requirements set by the academic community and achieves the objectives of this project.
