Abstract

The present work emerges from a bibliographical research whose objective is to analyze the remnants that are inherent in the contemporary context and how to understand how the formation of the human being has been constructed from the literary work "Raízes do Brasil" (Sergio Buarque de Holanda). As well as compare since the colonial period. Identifying with this characteristics that are still present today, as well as make a study about the roots of Brazilian cordiality and encouraging society to make a more critical reflection of the political reality by doing a study on the contemporaneity of the work. In this context from this study of the work it was possible to perceive the importance of the patriarchal family in political relations and how the "cordial man" is still present in our daily life. Among the theoretical framework that supports this research, in addition to the Work by Sergio Buarque de Holanda, scientific articles were also used. The research used the methodology of the bibliographic review, believing that it provides clarity for the researcher to choose the best instruments, processes and concepts, in addition to avoiding content less effective for the studied subject. Finally, through all the study carried out it was possible to confirm that the Brazilian politics did not undergo profound changes observed in the Work, there are still very strong characteristics of a patriarchal / rural society in contemporary society. From the research, it is hoped to contribute with results that provide greater reflections on a complex theme.
