A presença feminina no trabalho informal no centro comercial de Macapá: aproximações empíricas

Abstract

The present article had as main scope present the informal market, working in the commercial center of Macapá, in a perspective of female work. The basic idea was to gain a better understanding of this specific reality of work, registering as this segment develops and experience this work experience in your day-by-day. an important question, which our research tried to handle it, was to identify the difficulties that lead these women, first, choose, and then remain in the informal work. Among these motivations have identified, for example: low schooling; fixed income daily; flexibility of schedule. On the other hand, our research realize also that there are difficulties (s), namely: precariousness of the workplace (physical structure) and rigid supervision. The method searches occurred in a quantitative and qualitative perspective. To this end we conduct a survey, where we obtained objective data, through close-ended questions; and qualitative data, with open-ended questions. All in all we interviewed 30 women informal workers who work in the commercial center of Macapá. Our questionnaire consisted of forty questions so that informants could provide objective data; but also leave space open to subjective observations. Anyway, the central question of this work was to reflect how theories in the field of Sociology of work can help us understand realities so be specific in Amapá or elsewhere, as in the case studied.
