Conjunto Beira-Rio: habitação popular às margens do rio Amazonas

Abstract

This research aims to study the urban area on the shores of the Amazon River in the Araxa neighborhood in the city of Macapa, Amapá capital. The work studies if current policy proposals that involve the study area and the families residing there are in line with the desire of the local population. To this end, characterized the study area as the urban infrastructure, was made interview with locals to characterize the same with regard to socioeconomic issues, and understanding the relationship of the inhabitants of the area with the site and if there satisfaction with the current proposal of intervention proposed by the State. Previous to the characterization of the area, studied the process of urbanization of cities, Amazon occupation and the main changes in the Amapá space in order to understand the emergence of unequal spaces, coming from the urban growth of cities, through literature review. It was concluded that the current proposals do not represent the wishes of the residents of the area, in this sense, this monograph also presents an architectural and urban proposal to approach the local community's desire and features.
