Resumo

This paper analyzes the use of audiovisuals as a teaching tool in public schools in Macapá, aiming to understand the teaching and learning relationship between students and teachers through the new media, as a way to rescue the student's interest in school activities. The research is based on a case study carried out in two public schools in the state of Amapa. One is the state school Raimunda dos Passos Santos, where the project "Curta o Curta" has been developed since 2012, and the other is the state school Raimunda Virgolino, where the project "Human Sciences in Cinema" was developed in 2015. The methodology used in the research is quali-quantitative, with information collection through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires with sources involved in the projects. We trace along with the objective of the research the main theoretical influences of authors of cinema and media education, such as Marcos Napolitano (2013) and Rosália Duarte (2002), both with the discourse of the use of cinema for teaching, as well as, José Marques de Melo (2008), José Luiz Braga (2001) and Maria Luíza Belloni (2001), who aim the paths for the interaction between interfaces, communication and education. With the growth of digital media, such as the internet and cell phones, this work was fundamental to unveil the use of audio and video as a pedagogical aid in the reality of public schools in Macapá. Therefore, the research found that the insertion of audiovisual in schools was positive in rescuing the interest of students in the teaching and learning process, despite the limits in relation to equipment and structure in schools and the lack of qualification of teachers.
