Turismo em zona de fronteira na cidade de Oiapoque: estratégias e propostas com enfoque nas atividades dos catraieiros

Abstract

This study, which deals with Tourism in the Border Zone of the city of Oiapoque, aims to analyze strategies and proposals for Social Tourism for the catraieiros based on the structural impact on their activities when the Franco-Brazilian Binational Bridge is opened. In this context, tourism as a service and income generation tool, together with the catraieiros' cooperatives and associations, ensures the possibility of adding social development and strengthening local commerce to the economic sector. The scope of the research is outlined by the historical origin of the Franco-Brazilian border, considering the flows of national and foreign tourists, the main tourist facilities and services, and the characteristics of the geographic, historical, and cultural aspects, based on socioeconomic dynamics. Finally, as a result of the research, a tourist booklet was produced that serves as an instrument for guiding and promoting the tourist trade, both for residents and tourists, as well as for the private and public sectors, which together generate tourism in this border area.
