Da segregação do espaço urbano à cidade funcional: uma proposta de revitalização para a Orla do distrito de Monte Dourado

Abstract

This monograph conducts a study on how the implantation of the Great Economic Projects interfered in the history of the development and the creation of the cities, through the company cities installed in the Amazon. It also discusses the importance of water courses in the formation of cities and the importance of the riverbanks existing in riverside cities. Area surveys, on-site visits and bibliographical research were carried out with the purpose of obtaining results for the elaboration of a proposal to revitalize the Orla district of Monte Dourado, Jari project company city, located in the municipality of Almeirim-PA, at Banks of the Jari River.
