Resumo

This work is a search about the dock of Igarapé das Mulheres and immediate surroundings located on edge of Macapá city. This is a place close to monuments and historic buildings of the city. With a trade of rural products that arriving by riverine vessels docked at this location. But this area has bad conditions of the infrastructure that affects their use by residents and site workers. Uses a, predominantly, qualitative research method to make a urban analysis of the Igarapé das Mulheres and its surroundings for the recognition of local urban problems and for understanding the psychic users aspects related with the environment studied. In this context, in situ surveys are made in direct contact with the study object and interacting directly with the people who use the areas around the stream, applying interviews to understand the real needs of users to create solutions that promote the uses developed on site, describing it and preserving the positive activities of daily life that exists there. The work is complemented by a proposed urban rehabilitation, which seeks to provide a solution considering the way of life of residents, workers, visitors, traders and riverines.
