Parque linear ecológico para a ressaca da Lagoa dos Indios, Macapá - AP

Abstract

The Lagoa dos Índios is a wetland area, better known locally as a “ressaca” area. This site presents characteristic Amazon biome, is an Environmental Protection Area and is in the urban area of the city of Macapá, Amapá, Brazil. This is the largest wetland in the city, wich interconnects with other water bodies and plays an important role in reducing the microclimate, being a basin of rainfall accumulation and having green areas with rich biodiversity, but both this and the other Macapá wetlands have been occupied, grounded and progressively polluted. This research aims to study the area of the Lagoa dos Índios around the Duca Serra highway and propose an intervention through the implementation of a linear park in order to recover and preserve this ecosystem. The methodology used was the study of bibliographical and official documents, analysis of thematic maps and satellite images, site visits and application forms. The results obtained were that the Lagoa dos Índios is the most preserved wetland and that it holds great importance in the environmental balance of Macapá, but it suffers from the urban expansion influenced by the flows of the Duca Serra highway and the occupation of housing due to the lack of planning and adequate housing policies. It was proposed a linear park on the banks of the Lagoa dos Índios using ecological landscaping and green infrastructure, with the objective of contributing to the preservation of the biome and meeting the demand for public spaces of the Macapá city. The park has equipment for food, sports, recreation and leisure, seeking to connect users to nature.
