Território e espaço público na cidade ribeirinha de Afuá-PA: uma proposta de intervenção urbana para orla

Abstract

The urbanization of the Brazilian Amazon cities displays its complexity by distinct spatial transformations. The differentiation of the territories, in this sense, it is fundamental in the understanding of the contemporary urban phenomena and attempt to grasp the everyday life of cities. At this juncture, this study addressed the public space of the riparian town of Afuá, located in the archipelago of Marajó, State of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon and dealt with the notions and concepts of Territory to analyze the waterfront, formed as the main public space the city. Characterized by its peculiar appropriation of territory, Afuá has a riparian vernacular architecture and urban structure on stilts. The objective of this research was to obtain new data that contribute to the scientific and urban development of the city of Afuá, as well as the urban reality of small Amazon cities.The methodology regarding the dialectical method, the research conducted have quantitative and qualitative by applying questionnaires, references and field survey (land use mapping techniques, photographic records and data collection). Subsequently, were made physical, urban and socio-territorial analyzes of the waterfront, in order to get an overview regarding the territorialisation process from this. Then, it was elaborated a proposal of urban intervention design of at the level of basic design based on studies made.
