Resumo
The use of medicinal plants in Brazil, mainly through teas, is extremely relevant, and the concern with the quality of life has motivated people to consume natural products. For this, there are resolutions on the use of plants that are essential to guarantee the quality of the product and reduce the risks for the consumer. This research aimed to evaluate the quality control of herbal drugs marketed in the municipalities of Macapá and Santana-AP where, through observations made during visits to the sites, it was possible to list three species of highly commercialized herbal drugs in the state of Amapá: Peumus boldus, Maytenus ilicifolia, Senna alexandrina that were subjected to label analysis tests, determination of impurities, determination of moisture and total ash and microbiological control. In the present work it was obtained that of the 12 samples, only sample B4 had 100% approval in the tests carried out. The other samples failed at least one of the tests performed in this work. Non-compliance with the implemented norms can lead to the exchange of species and affect the quality and effectiveness of the herbal drug. Inadequate handling, cleaning and separation interfere directly in the determination of impurities and total ash, as can be seen in the samples of Senna alexandrina. In this way, the analyzes provided by the legislation are necessary, as they serve precisely to guarantee that the plants used only serve to promote health, contributing to well-being, as long as they are marketed correctly.
