Resumo

The theme of this paper is the educational policy for Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and its intersections with the International Agenda 2030, and started from the following problem: how the educational policy for Youth and Adult Education has been approaching and reproducing the guidelines indicated from the International Agenda 2030, considering goals 4.4 and 4.6, which propose, respectively, is training for technical and professional competence and the struggle against illiteracy? The general objective is to analyze the educational policy for Youth and Adult Education in Brazil in the period from 2015 to 2022, highlighting its intersections with the International Agenda 2030. The specific objectives are: examine the historical, political and economic situation of the international agendas for Education and its relationship with Brazil in the last three decades; map the official documents in force from 2015 to 2022, which direct educational policy for EJA in Brazil, in order to highlight their intersections with the 2030 Agenda; and compare the recommendations present in goals 4.4 and 4.6 of the 2030 Agenda with the scenario of actions developed for EJA, based on official data published on literacy and the integration of EJA with Professional Education. Regarding the theoretical-methodological foundations, it is an Exploratory and Documentary type of research, based on the Historical-Dialetic Materialism method. The technique used to interpret the research corpus was Laurence Bardin's Content Analysis, and as a result, the study revealed that the educational policy for EJA in Brazil is strongly aligned with the guidelines from the International Agenda 2030. This alignment is confirmed in the main national documents guiding policy for EJA, not only through the use of the same or related terms, but also through the reproduction of the same global logic that subordinates Brazilian education, in this case EJA, to imported standards. Regarding the achievement of goals 4.4 and 4.6 of the 2030 Agenda, it was found that, even with just over six years left until the end of its validity, statistical data indicate that its achievement will possibly be postponed until the next agenda, and in the same way for the next PNE, considering its alignment.
