Proposta de intervenção urbana para a Rampa do Açaí

Abstract

This monography presents as theme the spontaneous use of urban space allied to an urban net of regional characteristics, inserted at a waterfront, what caracterizes it as a multiscale space. The Açaí Ramp is located at Santa Inês waterfront, Macapá-AP, where is observed a commuter movement for the outlet of açaí’s output resulting from Pará’s and Amapá’s islands, through port activities and daily stablished street markets, that is also a space destined for metropolitan leisure. The concept of hybrid landscape is used to define the area’s situation, which expresses cultural, social and functional diversity. The awakening for the issue comes from contextually understanding the area at issue, which presents itself highly appropriate, without, however, the needed structural conditions for the development of the activities, differently from the surrounding, which is structured for leisure activities. Comprehending the potential and demands of the Açaí Ramp, there are alternatives for the area’s urban design, that integrates this diversity and convers all activities and spontaneous uses. With that in mind, the main object is to support the regional structure formed by the Açaí Street Market, besides highlighting and giving relevance to the area, in order to bring studies to comprehend the contemporary urban life’s complexity for application at the architectural and urban intervention proposal, aiming to retrain the urban space. The methodology includes bibliographical review, case studies, analysis and empiric approaches about the area of study, with qualitative and quantitative researches, through on-site visits, observation, interviews, photographic record and formulation of historical background. Finally, the principle on the proposal is guided by the conception of a heterogeneous and democratic space, that shelters social practices, subsidizes qualification for existing activities and gives the opening to spontaneity.
