Revitalização urbana: proposta para a praça Barão do Rio Branco

Abstract

This work aims to propose a revitalization project for the Barão Square of Rio Branco, located in the central district of the city of Macapá. In order to achieve this objective, a theoretical study was carried out on the subject of revitalization, also seeking to investigate some design references on a world scale, national level and with the purpose of seeking constructive technology and new materials and specific technical knowledge to implant in the revitalization project of square. A study was also carried out on the current situation of the immediate surroundings and the square, the research method, predominantly qualitative in the urban analysis of the said square and its surroundings, is used for the recognition of the urban problems existing in the place, and for the identification of aspects psychics of the users in relation to the study environment. In this context, surveys are carried out in loco, in direct contact with the object of study, interacting with the individuals who use the Barão Square of Rio Branco and applying interviews to understand the real needs of users in order to create solutions that propitiate this environment to the uses developed in the place, and qualifying it and preserving the positive activities of the existent existing there, and implanting activities that are necessary in the contemporaneity like playground and gym in the open air. Armed with this knowledge, the aim is to propose this revitalization project. It is a central square located in the old center of the city Macapá, where is located the commercial area and historical buildings of the city. It is concluded with the information collected in the field that the existing needs program only contemplates activities (contemplation and sportive) and is outdated in relation to the needs of contemporary life, since it does not contemplate the children's public, it also does not have physical exercise equipment in the open air, contributing to the reduction of the number of visitors and even distancing cultural education, lack of elements that allow universal access to all its patrons; factors that demonstrate the need for a project to adapt the square observing the current needs of modernity and based on the requirements of NBR 9050/2015 (Universal Accessibility Standard) of ABNT (Brazilian AssociationofTechnicalStandards).
