Resumo

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects children's communication, social interaction, and behavior, making it essential to adapt educational practices to ensure effective inclusion. Different strategies, resources, and pedagogical approaches employed to meet the specific needs of these students have been examined, along with the benefits and challenges encountered by education professionals in implementing them. Thus, the following research problem was formulated: How to ensure inclusion of a student with ASD in the 5th grade of Elementary School, considering the challenges faced by teachers, as well as the effectiveness of the strategies and pedagogical practices used? This work aims to investigate and analyze the teaching methodologies and instruments used to promote pedagogical accessibility for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is a field research with a qualitative approach. For data collection, the instruments used were questionnaires, logbooks, and observation techniques to obtain a deep understanding of the best teaching practices used with children with ASD. The results pointed to the practices, the pedagogical process, inclusion, and significant changes in the student's behavior. This study is relevant as it provided theoretical and practical insights for the improvement of inclusive educational practices, aiming to ensure the full development and meaningful learning of these students.
