Resumo

SDN, as a technology that supplies the huge infrastructure and manages networks, makes it possible to deal, in a simpler and more uncomplicated way, with management protocols that have closed architecture hardware, making them more accurate and faster in data traffic between networks. of computers. Therefore, SDN opens better perspectives in the logical control of the network with new applications, bringing agility and mobility in the management of the entire network through software. Given a wide range of knowledge, it is extremely important to conduct a study on the architecture and functioning of SDN as a discipline and not just as a subject inserted in a subject, which can be taught in just two or three classes. Thus, the study of SDN as a discipline for the training of academics in the information and communication technology course, becomes essential, because even with its implementation, there are still some areas to be explored in the optimization of network traffic through the use of SDN. For that, it is necessary to register the origins and historical movement of the SDN; identify the consistency and advantages of the SDN and; investigate the importance of SDN as a discipline in the training of IT and Communication students. In terms of methodology, the referred work has a theoretical-descriptive and exploratory character, as it gathers data, information, positions, patterns, ideas or hypotheses that allow reflection on the topic in question. It is based on the inductive and qualitative quantitative method, resulting from bibliographic collections based on the literature on the subject, research in articles and journalistic materials on websites and online magazines, in addition to the research carried out through a questionnaire with simple and direct questions.
