Visita guiada de gestantes na maternidade: projeto piloto de extensão universitária

Abstract

Objective: To report the experience of two nursing students in a university extension activity for the early connection of pregnant women and their companions to the place of delivery. Method: This is an experience report on a university extension project carried out, in 2021, in the State of Amapá, in four phases: construction of an educational intervention; application of educational intervention; the articulation of the visit with the professionals; and the evaluation of the pregnant woman's satisfaction. Results: Two banners in the form of a sticker were installed with general guidelines on the guided visit in two health units with prenatal services to capture pregnant women. The visits were carried out in the maternity wards of three hospitals that provide childbirth care in the municipalities of Macapá, Oiapoque and Santana, in the State of Amapá. A remote training was carried out with nurses who provide prenatal care to guide them on the scheduling and flowchart of the visit. The nurse who provides assistance during

childbirth was the professional who most performed the tour in each maternity hospital. Conclusion: The actions of the guided visit extension project constituted a network work to improve prenatal care.
