Abstract

The Housing Deficit currently constitutes one of the biggest problems that the Brazilian society will have to address to improve the quality of life of its people, this is a matter that accumulates when complexity is analyzed in a systematic way, as the limitation of budgetary resources, the economic factor between the regions and the high disparity in administrative capacity of housing policies, ends up generating increasingly barriers turn hindering the development of town planning in relation to social housing. The search for a dignified and comfortable cottage structure is one of the greatest assets that a low-income family can get, because housing is a basic need and as such is a human aspiration which, along with clothing and food consist in major investment to establish a patrimony. The use of new building technologies is necessary nowadays because with the passage of time, the Housing Deficit only been growing and bringing major problems for cities. Therefore, the use of these technologies can reduce the above deficit raising the final quality of housing. Among the new technologies, prefabricated concrete stand as one of the possible solutions due to their high structural and aesthetic performance. One way to enhance any project in order to expand it, respecting aesthetics, thermal and acoustic comfort is to adopt the concepts advocated by the Modular Architecture for modifications and / or extensions are already planned. In this context, this paper presents a prototype of an affordable housing developed with the use of precast concrete technology, taking into account, through the Modular Architecture, two possible extensions of this housing.
