Resumo

This article aims to present Plato's representation on behalf of Orpheus by answering the main research problem, "How did Plato represent Orpheus?" So, according to this question, we have three goals to arrive at. There is a conclusion that is favorable to the question and makes us reflect and reach a goal. The main objective is to present ancient literary works in which the myth of Orpheus is quoted, bringing with it photographs of vases where Orpheus is shown, so we can understand what these literary works, and authors thought about Orpheus, drawing favorable reflections for main question. The second objective brings the quotes that Plato made in the name of Orpheus, here we only present the work, and comment on these references that the philosopher makes in the name of Orpheus. In the last part, third objective, we stop to reflect the reasons that led Plato to quote Orpheus, and answer the question proposed from the beginning. In the conclusion we show all the possible answers to the question "Was Orpheus a sophist?" So we answer the two questions posed as a problem and come up with a reflexive answer.
