Resumo
The research seeks to study paganism today, especially in the capital of the state of Amapá, Macapá. This work
seeks to analyze the identity of the participants of the group, AmaPagão. The group to be researched, holds its
meetings, in this space, mainly in public places. One question arises: How do you construct an identity of the
visitors of this group in urban and contemporary space in Macapá? The methodology used is the Case Study
(YIN, 2001) of the Group, using qualitative, verbal and visual research (FLICK, 2004). The first, verbal is the
semistructured interview (MANZINI, 1991) and (TRIVIÑOS, 1987) and visual, participant observation, besides
documentary analysis, and discourse and bibliographic review. The study of this group is of great relevance to
the social sciences, since there are few scientific productions and discussions on this subject, and its elaboration
and development instigates new debates in the scientific community on the subject, allowing new interpretations
and new approaches. Fieldwork has brought new results on the socioeconomic profile of people who attend the
neopagan circuit (CORDOVIL and CASTRO, 2014) and how they behave within religious transit (NEGRÃO,
2013). The results show that the majority are young, single, middle class and predominantly university, brown,
and vary between heterosexual and homosexual. The identity of these members is constantly changing, in crisis.
The "tucuju paganism" is identified, a particular way of the Macapaean pagan to relate to the sacred, being able
to worship native and "foreign" goddesses and gods.
