Ribeirinhos do Anauerapucu: conhecimentos tradicionais e seus aspectos cosmológicos

Abstract

This work investigates the traditional knowledge and practices focusing on the cosmological conception of a dweller group rooted in the giant Amazonian environment. The research site is the Anauerapucu community, which occupies a riverside area predominantly lowland, located on the highway AP 010, far 16 km from the seat of municipality of Santana and 27 km from the capital Macapá. The Anauerapucu district was created under the law nº 453/99-PMS, § 1º. To get to the community there are two access routes: the river and the highway. So, I try to describe accurately some key elements as to how the subjects that make up this community build practical knowledge from the everyday relationship with the river and the forest, under the influence of a natural temporality in this environment, such as: rainy season (winter) and sunny season (summer); high tide and low tide; flood and ebb. Given the heterogeneity of practices, knowledge and social relations in the Amazon, I made an ethnography based on the narrative of the residents conducting interviews, photographic records, audio and video recordings, informal conversations and participant observation aimed to find and rescue the importance of the socioenvironmental scenario to the construction of ethnic knowledge in this community.
